On the 6th of October 2019 our #saveourglaciers – Instameet took place in the beautiful Engiadina at and on the Morteratsch glacier. The meet was organized by us and sponsored by us, the Migros, the Bergsteigerschule Pontresina, the Rhätische Bahn and the Bernina Glaciers tourism organization.

Our group consisted of 40 people. The main goal was to see the glacial melting and hear about what we can do in order to reduce the change of our climate. We had a glaciologist as a guest speaker, that told us lots of facts about this glacier, but also about climate change in general.

In the first picture you can see some really outstanding lines at the right and left, these are the side moraines and some time ago this glacier was at that height. Can you imagine how big and impressive it must have been? This was just a few decades ago. That was just one of the many things we talked about and learned from the glaciologist.

After the speech, everybody was able to roam around freely, of course with caution, to take pictures and see the climate change with their own eyes.
