The Alpinists

Social Media Workshop 2021
10th of July

The Plan

We will meet at 9:30 in Rapperswil in our seminary room. After getting to know each other we start right into the topic: how did we become influencers? How can companies use social media for their marketing purposes? Content is king: what is the most successful and how does the Instagram Algorithm work? In the 5 to 6 hours we will be spending together with you, we will not only share our knowledge we’ve gained the last couple of years being Switzerland’s biggest influencer collective, but also move into action after having lunch together and create the first postings together. Roman and Valentin will both individually supervise you with their broad range of experiences they made as Influencers, but also when approaching the topic from the brand’s perspective in their start-up “Twintheworld Agency”. After an intense, but diversified day you will go home, having invested in your future – full of insider-tips, ready to start your own professional social media presence.

Depending on where the participants’ interests lie, the content of the course will be adjusted, so that you get the most of your time.
We are excited to get to know you and give you a look behind the scenes of The Alpinists’ social media presence.

What we can offer you

Influencing

We will give you insights on how we became so successful on Instagram. This contains content creation, branding, community building and much more. The key is to understand how the algorithms work and what you need to focus on to grow on social media nowadays.

Brand Cooperations

Many influencers that have just started aren’t successful in working together with brands. We will show what brands want, how you get in touch with them and how you eventually get invited to exclusive events and partnerships without knocking on the brands’ doors.

Practice

In our workshop, we don’t only want to give a backpack full of insider-knowledge about social media to you, but also work together creating the first postings with what you have learned the hours before. Like this, we can support you more individually and set the starting shot for your authentic social media presence.

Frequently asked questions

What level of photography is required?

The workshop is open to all levels of experience. The only thing we ask is that you bring passion, energy and the drive to be out in the field every day no matter what the weather is like.

What should I bring?

We will send out a clothing list before the trip. We recommend that you layer up! Bring comfortable clothes for sunny days and layers for when it’s colder such as in the morning and evening. A rain jacket, preferably Gore-tex and a wool underlayer will help when shooting after sunset. Merino socks and hiking boots are your best friend. As the saying goes “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing”. Temperatures during the day could hit over 20 degrees Celsius and on an evening in the mountains approach 0 degrees Celsius.

What are the required fitness conditions?

During this workshop we will have to carry the camera equipment as well as clothes, food and water for smaller hikes. It should be doable for all fitness levels as we can plan enough time and adapt the route.

Where will we be staying?

Hotel

Can I bring a drone?

Of course! Please only use your drone where it is allowed to do so. We would recommend bringing a DJI Mavic sized drone to give you a smooth travel experience. If you are interested we can show you the basics of aerial photo- and videography.

What and where will we eat?

We will eat dinner and breakfast in the mountain lodges. Where and how to eat lunch is up to you.

What about Corona?

We will follow the Swiss government’s advisories. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available throughout the entire workshop.
