The Plan

We’re excited to return to the stunning Lötschental and Arolla Valley, our newest location for outdoor photography workshops in Switzerland. These breathtaking regions are the perfect setting to take your photography to the next level and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Swiss Alps during autumn.

This workshop is all about taking your photography to the next level. We’ll walk you through our entire process—from planning photo tours to capturing stunning shots and editing them in Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. We’ll also dive into useful topics like building a photography business, growing on Instagram, and navigating social media.

Set in the breathtaking Lötschental and Arolla Valley, you’ll get the chance to explore alpine lakes surrounded by golden larches and capture the magic of autumn. We’ll work with the weather to make the most of every condition and spend most of our time outdoors, doing what we love—shooting incredible landscapes.

What to Expect

Here’s how the workshop will look:

  • Day 1: We’ll meet at 10:30 at the Blatten Lötschen Dorf bus station and kick things off with coffee and croissants at our hotel. After check-in and getting our gear ready, we’ll go over camera basics and settings before heading out to photograph a sunset hike.
  • Day 2: After breakfast, we’ll pack up and drive to the Arolla Valley in our Volvos. After checking into the next hotel, we’ll spend the afternoon exploring and then head out for another sunset shoot. In the evening, we’ll enjoy great food and some well-deserved rest after an exciting day.
  • Day 3: We’ll start early with breakfast and head to a nearby glacier valley for our final shoot. The workshop will wrap up at Sion train station, but if it’s more convenient, you’re welcome to travel back with us in the Volvos.

We’re beyond excited to create an unforgettable experience together and can’t wait to meet you in the beautiful Valais. Let’s make some magic this autumn!

    Frequently asked questions

What level of photography is required?

The workshop is open to all levels of experience. The only thing we ask is that you bring passion, energy and the drive to be out in the field every day no matter what the weather is like.

    What should I bring?

We will send out a clothing list before the trip. We recommend that you layer up! Bring comfortable clothes for sunny days and layers for when it’s colder such as in the morning and evening. A rain jacket, preferably Gore-tex and a wool underlayer will help when shooting after sunset. Merino socks and hiking boots are your best friend. As the saying goes “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing”. Temperatures during the day could hit over 20 degrees Celsius and on an evening in the mountains approach 0 degrees Celsius.

What are the required fitness conditions?

During this workshop we will have to carry the camera equipment as well as clothes, food and water for smaller hikes. It should be doable for all fitness levels as we can plan enough time and adapt the route.

    Can I bring a drone?

Of course! Please only use your drone where it is allowed to do so. We would recommend bringing a DJI Mavic sized drone to give you a smooth travel experience. If you are interested we can show you the basics of aerial photo- and videography.
